Walter,
I want to thank you so much for forwarding my email & I'm really sorry it was a little inaccurate.
Old Glory went up FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MOBILE
@ 5 on Thursday afternoon ,April 15, 1813.
The 200th anniversary will occur on Monday, April 15, 2013, NOT April 13.
April 13 was the date of the terms of surrender.
I certainly want to participate in any way I can with the commemoration of this event :
THE BICENTENNIAL OF THE ADVENT OF THE AMERICAN FLAG OVER THE PORT OF MOBILE!!!!
Please feel free to forward this to ANYONE, however, I'm very cross with the staff of The Museum of Mobile & prefer not to deal with them at all.
THE MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2013
COMMEMORATION OF THE BICENTENNIAL OF
THE ADVENT OF THE AMERICAN FLAG
OVER THE PORT OF MOBILE
This is a love story; a story of love of God, Country & Family.
It's a story of how MAJOR PATRIOTIC EVENTS come to be.
At 5 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, April 15, 2013,
SOMEBODY'S GONNA SHOOT OFF SOME BIG GUNZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!
At 5 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, April 15, 1813, "amid a salvo from batteries and gunboats," THE AMERICAN FLAG rose for THE FIRST TIME over
FUERTE CARLOTA DE MOVILA.
Here's the terms of surrender from General Wilkinson's autobiography.

What these jokers don't understand is that I am a SERIOUS STUDENT of the Spanish evacuation of New Orleans in 1803, the Spanish evacuation of Mobile in 1813 & the Spanish evacuation of St. Augustine & Pensacola in 1821.
