TELEVISION FOR DOTHAN
For the past year or more some of Dothan's top radio service men have been experimenting with, testing and comparing name brand TV sets. They have been changing circuit, adding additional parts, realigning for fringe area and trying all types of boosters, filters and antennas, all of which helps to bring a little TV to Dothan.
Chester Seay, owner of one of the leading radio service shops, SEAY RADIO & TELEVISION SALES & SERVICE, where you probably saw your first TV set in operation, stated that "As television moves into Dothan, companies will spring up overnight to sell and install TV sets and antennas, most of them not knowing what an ION trap or FOCUS coil is for. Some will contract with local radio and television servicemen to set up and install their sets and antennas, which is a good idea, good serviceman can be "put on the spot" so to speak, if you ask too many questions about the brand set he is installing or servicing for a dealer. Most of your old established dealers will consult their servicemen as to merits of a TV set they plan to sell before offering them to you. They know that they can depend on what a good service man tells them, Mr. Seay continues "So far there is not any perfect TV reception for Dothan and only rumors of Booster Stations. new stations clearer TV and permits for stations. Some people ask about cold weather and its effect on TV. Our experience is that it is bad for fringe areas such as this. If you plan to buy a TV set or TV antenna or set up the set you may now have, SEAY RADIO AND TELEVISION SALES AND SERVICE will be glad to pass on to you the knowledge gained from experience."
